Undergraduate Internships (BBA | B.Com | BCA)

As part of the undergraduate learning journey at ISME, students undertake short-term internships with leading organizations in alignment with Bangalore University timelines. These internships provide students with early exposure to the corporate environment and help bridge classroom learning with real-world industry practices. Through hands-on assignments, students gain practical insights into workplace expectations, business operations, team collaboration, and professional conduct. The internship experience enables students to explore career interests, build industry awareness, and develop essential workplace skills, preparing them for future career opportunities with greater confidence and clarity.

At ISME, career preparation begins early. The Placement Oriented Value Added Lab (POVAL) is a
structured career development initiative designed for UG students in Semester 5 and Semester 6 to
prepare them for life after graduation—whether that means securing placements or pursuing higher
education.

Offered to students across BBA, B.Com, and BCA programs, POVAL ensures every student receives
focused career guidance, industry exposure, and skill development aligned with their future goals.

Program Objective

Track 1: Placement Readiness

Designed for students planning to enter the corporate workforce after graduation.

Program Structure

Session Duration: 1 Hour 15 Minutes per session.

At ISME, mentoring and counselling are integral to the undergraduate career development journey. Students of BBA, B.Com, and BCA programs receive continuous guidance from faculty mentors, career advisors, and industry experts to help them identify their strengths, explore career pathways, and make informed decisions regarding higher education, entrepreneurship, internships, and placements. Through one-on-one mentoring sessions, career counselling discussions, goal-setting exercises, and personalized support, students are guided in building confidence, improving employability skills, and aligning their academic journey with their long-term professional aspirations. This structured support system ensures that every student receives the right direction and encouragement at every stage of their career preparation.

At ISME, undergraduate students across BBA, B.Com, and BCA programs participate in industry visits in every semester to ensure continuous exposure to real-world business environments. These visits are designed to help students connect classroom concepts with practical industry applications by providing firsthand insights into areas such as manufacturing processes, assembly lines, procurement, supply chain management, logistics, marketing, operations, and technology functions. Students visit manufacturing plants, corporate offices, and operational facilities to understand the journey behind every finished product or service. Through direct interactions with industry professionals, they gain valuable perspectives on business operations, industry practices, and workplace expectations, making learning more experiential and industry-relevant.
