With dreams in their eyes, hopes in their hearts, the 6th PGPM 2011-2013 batch of ISME attended the orientation program at the college’s campus at Whitefield, Bangalore on 25th of July, 2011. The program is intended to create a platform for the students to introduce them to guidelines and best practices on industry trends and future prospects. The gathering was welcomed by Pallavi Jain, Director Admissions. KG Garg, Chairman of NVT group, shared his views on the future of industry and economy followed by Ramesh G.Tagat, Academic Mentor and former Professor Emeritus IIMB. Professor Ramesh spoke on management processes and skill base for prospective management professionals. During the programme, corporate leaders from various sectors and industries offered academic and practical guidance directly associated with the industry requirements. The director of ISME, Mr. Nitin Garg, talked about the journey of ISME along with the successful placement of the previous batch.
The Chief Guest for the day was Srijitha Karnand, Head HR and IT at Tech Mahindra. She provided an insight on the future prospects that an MBA graduate has in the industry. She also spoke about some of the important considerations that an MBA student as future manager will have to imbibe. Some of them being – a constant evaluation of new business concepts, creative thinking and planning, importance of decision making and accountability and constant thirst for learning.
She also advised students to identify their strengths and build upon them. Her speech was very inspiring and it provided a perfect platform for the wide-eyed young students about to take up this brand new path towards ambitions and dreams.
