ISME Skills Academy hosts guest speakers and practitioners from the industry regularly for current business updates and to make students aware of international business events and industry trends. There is a four-month summer internship between the first and second year. The students in the second year shall attend theory classes in the morning and practice the learning on the shop floor in the afternoon.

As per AT Kearney Research, the retail industry is expected to grow one and a half times from around 1200 billion US dollars in 2023 to over 1800 billion US dollars by 2030 with an annual compounded growth rate of over 9%. This is being enabled by increased consumer spending, the E-commerce boom, the Growth of Organized Retail, enabling Government Initiatives like GST and the easing of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). This is leading to a need for a large pool of trained manpower. Retail contributes 8% of the total jobs in India and currently represents 10% of GDP.
According to a research report by Arthur D Little, the logistics industry represents 14% of India’s GDP. The growth of the logistics industry in India has been driven by various factors, including the country’s robust economic growth, increasing domestic consumption, expansion of e-commerce, government initiatives, and improved infrastructure development. This growth has led to a large number of jobs being created in the sector.
The PGDM Retail &Logistics Management program at ISME Skill Academy has been designed to cater to the needs of talent requirements of the retail industry at current times at an entry-level. The program’s transformational cross-disciplinary learning aims to nurture students into competent professionals with leadership abilities and an innovative mind-set. The program equips the student to understand the contemporary retail & logistics environment and learn core retail and logistics skills – Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Category Management, Franchising, Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations & Profitability, Logistics Strategy, Operations and Materials Management. Students are also exposed to all management topics and are extensively trained in soft skills to make them job ready.
The unique feature of the program is the industry integration and practical learning. The course combines a mixture of general management and retail management and on-the-shop learning. The students in the second year attend theory classes in the morning and practice learning on the shop floor in the afternoon.
Summer Internship (SI): After completing the first two semesters, the students shall attend summer training for four months (May to August) before resuming their second-year studies.
Industry Trajectory Program (ITP): In the second year, the classes are held in the morning and later the students join an assigned retail outlet for an internship for eight months. The placement is offered towards the end of ITP on successful completion.
ISA has collaborative arrangements with top retailers for Industry Trajectory Program and placements. The program enables students to undergo a four-month summer internship and an eight-month industry trajectory program followed by a job offer, three months before graduation. This program provides an opportunity for students to get employed by the second year of PGDM in leading retail and logistics companies and earn between 1L- 2L.

Complete the Application Form (Online)
Every applicant seeking admission to ISME needs to complete the Application Form (https://admission.isme.in/pg)
Passed any Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration from any recognized educational institution/university in any stream or equivalent. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination. The age of the candidate at the time of admission should not exceed 30 years.

Based on this process, the admission committee invites selected students for admission to the program. Admitted candidates are sent the Admission Offer letter. The admission would be final only after the receipt of confirmation of the Admission Acceptance form from the candidate and the payment of the registration fee. Registration fee once paid is non-refundable.
