On 12th September, 2013, students of ISME attended the seminar on Project Management. The seminar was organized by PMI (Project Management Institute), the world’s largest non-profit association for project management professionals across 185 countries. Its headquarter is in Newton Square, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
PM Primer Program was launched by PMI Bangalore Chapter with the objective of creating awareness among the students for project management concepts. The program covered various topics in project management and described the five process group of project management framework- Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling & Monitoring and Closing. The seminar highlighted the use of these concepts through some case studies. The videos of some important projects like DMRC (Delhi), Bandra-Worli Bridge (Mumbai) and Cowboy (Australia) enhanced our understanding about the program.
The seminar was attended by 17 Engineering and Management Colleges of Bangalore. PMI Bangalore Chapter also gave mementos to all colleges for participation. The memento for ISME was received by Prof. H.S. Mishra, who accompanied the students.
The seminar was very useful as it helped in understanding various steps involved in planning and executing Project Management.
